Network For Anti Corruption and Public Morality has urged The Code of Conduct Bureau and Tribunal to commence the prosecution of Honourable Iniobong Nnamso, Chairman, Esit Eket Local Government, Akwa Ibom State without further delay.
According the contents of the petition signed by coordinator of the NGO, Victor Bassey and dispatched to the Chairman of the Tribunal, Honourable Nnamso, was alleged to have among other misconducts, misappropriated public funds running into billions of naira.
‘’We don’t expect you to fold your hands watching helplessly the same Nnamso trying to escape justice by staying put in office to elevate his financial breaches and gross misconduct in office, including deft moves to frustrate prosecution of the atrocities he committed against his people.
‘’The Code of Conduct Bureau State Director in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State has established prima facie case against him via an official letter on the investigation to the Head office in Abuja that Honourable Nnamso is not fit and proper person to continue to preside over the affairs of the council. Therefore, he should be prosecuted forth with for the crimes variously liable committed by him in line with the anti corruption stance of the President Muhammadu Buhari administration.’’ Bassey said in his petition.
